Background

Rural Africa Water Development Project (also known as Rural Africa Water Development Initiative) is a Non-Governmental Organization working to promote sustainable development in dispersed rural and dense urban but poor communities in Africa.

First organized in year 2000, RAWDP is today a legally incorporated body with a 5 member trustee board. It is located primarily in Southeastern Nigeria with its activities concentrated in across the oil rich Niger Delta region and other parts of Nigeria.

Laudable sustainable development activities being implemented by RAWDP include the development and improvement of access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene through technological and social diffusions; the delivery of erosion, drought and flood management toolkits, as well as the promotion of climate change mitigation and adaptation awareness.

In doing our work we first assess and mainstream the critical needs of vulnerable and marginalized groups such as women, children, and the disabled etc. We work toward delivering sustainable development by partnering with local communities, other NGOs, government institutions, donors, United Nation agencies, academic institutions, local businesses and multinational corporations which show optimal commitment in working with us.
